Lineshift reveals Max, the first AI video sales agent for car dealerships

On the occasion of Moove On, the trade show for the future and performance of automotive distribution and mobility (June 23–24, 2026, Paris La Défense), Lineshift reveals Max, its new product: a video AI sales agent designed to transform the experience of visitors to the websites of dealerships, dealer groups and automotive professionals.

As the car-purchase journey increasingly begins online, the digital experience has remained largely limited to forms, text chats and static vehicle listings. With Max, Lineshift offers a new approach: let the visitor speak directly with a video agent, just as in a video conference, to rediscover online an experience that is more natural, more fluid and closer to the real exchange in a showroom.

A more human sales experience on automotive websites

Concretely, Max appears on a dealership or dealer group's website as an interactive video agent. The visitor can speak to it by voice, ask questions, compare models, request information on a vehicle, be directed to an offer, or be qualified before being connected to the sales team.

The goal: go beyond the limits of traditional chat and offer a more engaging, more conversational interaction, closer to the real expectations of automotive customers. Max answers orally, adapts its speech, reformulates the customer's needs and shows empathy in the exchange. The experience thus approaches a first contact with a sales advisor, while remaining available directly from the distributor's website.

An AI trained on the commercial challenges of automotive

Designed specifically for the automotive sector, Max can draw on the distributor's business data: ranges, models, engines, trims, equipment, options, on-board technologies, commercial offers, availability and practical information related to points of sale.

The agent is thus able to support visitors in their first questions: choosing a model, comparing versions, understanding equipment, finding a vehicle suited to the customer's needs, or preparing a test drive. For dealerships and dealer groups, Max makes it possible to better capture commercial intent online, qualify incoming requests and facilitate the handover to field teams.

Answering a key challenge: converting more digital visitors

Automotive websites generate significant traffic, but a large share of visitors leave without leaving their contact details, requesting a test drive or contacting the dealership. Max aims to reduce this friction by creating an immediate, natural and reassuring exchange.

Instead of letting the visitor search alone through vehicle pages or fill in an impersonal form, the video agent can engage the conversation, understand the need, answer objections and direct them to the most relevant action: test-drive request, appointment booking, callback or handover of a qualified lead.

For automotive distributors, the expected benefits are multiple:

“Automotive digital must become conversational again”

“Today, a customer can spend a lot of time on an automotive website without ever experiencing a real commercial interaction. Yet buying a vehicle remains an important, emotional and often complex decision. With Max, we want to make the digital journey more human, more natural and more efficient for distributors,” says Julien Méchin, CEO of Lineshift.
“Our conviction is simple: the future of online automotive commerce will not be limited to forms or text chats. It will go through agents capable of conversing by voice, understanding the customer's need and providing an immediate, contextualised and empathetic response.”

First preview demo at Moove On

Lineshift will present Max in demonstration throughout the Moove On trade show, on June 23 and 24, 2026 at the CNIT Forest Paris La Défense. Dealers, dealer groups, brand agents, repairers and mobility players will be able to test the experience directly at the Lineshift stand and discover how a video AI agent can be integrated into the digital journey of an automotive point of sale.
